Dear Judy
How is it that public schools cover evolution almost as a fact, not a theory, and yet the Christian view is not presented in this so-called Christian nation? In the news I’ve seen where teachers have been fired for just presenting their views on this. We were founded on Christian principles. Most of our founders were believers. But our history books don’t tell this anymore. Aren’t there enough believers in influential places to demand at least an equal voice in the origins of life? - Concerned Christian
Dear Concerned Christian,
With Christmas being celebrated this month, this is an excellent question! Anyone can do a little research to see that the Founding Fathers of this nation used prayer in the government and that the Bible was used in schools to teach students how to read. Christianity was the backbone of society, but how sad it is to see how far we’ve strayed as a nation from those basic principals.
You are right when you say that evolution is a theory and not a fact. It is the Christians who should have risen up against the teaching of evolution when it was being offered as fact, but I’m sorry to say that hasn’t been the case. Not enough anyway. Our young people are made to believe that any intelligent person could only believe in evolution and not in creationism. It’s been a slow but steady process eliminating biblical principals from our country and schools. When people question my husband, Vic, on the subject of evolution, he tells them it takes more faith to believe that we came from a monkey than to believe in a divine Creator. I say Amen to that.
This is the Christmas season and the reason we celebrate is the birth of Jesus, and God almighty coming in the form of a baby through the virgin birth to earth. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist (Colossians 1:15-17).
People say that creationism is just a theory. But if a person will observe the birds, animal life, the ocean and its colorful life, the sky with all of its stars and galaxies, and the mountains, etc., it is hard to believe these simply evolved. Now take a human being and think about the intricate parts with their different functions. This puts everything in perspective. How can a rational logical person think that all of those wonderful intricate parts of the human body came from one single cell and developed into something so complex as a human being? How foolish! Many Christian have compromised their beliefs by mixing evolution with the Bible. They do not mix! Only a divine Creator could create all of this and keep it all together.
It’s still not too late to demand an equal voice about creationism. Use your voice in your children’s schools, or wherever you can. The voice of the Creator should be heard and that will come through His creation! Even if others do not stand up against the lies of evolution, you and I can. Our voices can be heard concerning this matter if we stand together and be steadfast about what we believe, which is a creator who created ALL things! It is never too late to make a difference!
