Align with God's Will
Dear Judy,
What does it mean to align my will with God’s will??

That is a question we all need to understand! The word “ align” means to bring into agreement. When we are born again, we become a new person. 2 Corinthians 5:17,18 says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
We now are out of the Kingdom of the devil and into the Kingdom of God. Before we received Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we lived and trusted the ways of self, the world, and the devil, bringing our self into agreement with them. After we become children of God, we must learn to be in agreement with the Bible and the things of God.
Aligning ourself with our Lord and His words is a process! When we are saved our spirit is all new, but our soul realm (mind, will, and emotion) is still the same. For this to change, we MUST read the Bible! Praise God, we are not alone in this realignment process. We have the Holy Spirit living within us to help us grow and teach us what our Heavenly Father’s will is as we read our manual for success (the Bible).
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
The word conformed means to be of the same pattern, fashioning self according to the world. The word renewing means the adjustment of our moral and spiritual vision and thinking to the mind of God. The word transformed is change! Like a caterpillar makes a cocoon and comes out a butterfly! We have a part to play and that is to read the Word daily, listen to Christian teachings, pray, and go to church—these help us renew our mind from things of the world to things of God and come in alignment with His will.
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Psalm 143:10
