Repentance brings Freedom!
We are living in very serious times! It is important that we take an account of our heart. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to search our heart and expose any hidden place of unforgiveness or offense. If we hang onto those and do not repent, we are the only one chained and we leave a door cracked for the devil to push wide open!
So many times, we allow a root of bitterness to stay lodged in our heart. It may be so hidden, we aren’t even aware of it. It is like cutting down a huge tree and over time if the root was not totally removed, the tree will start to grow again. Starts small but will grow big if not dealt with! That is exactly what will happen to our heart! Then it will affect every area of our life, even causing our mind and our body to be affected.

Our manual for success (the Bible) says in Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” The word merry means joyful or rejoicing! We cannot have a rejoicing heart and a bitter heart at the same time! We want our bones full of moisture, not dry! This is our choice!
Proverbs 15:15 says “All the days of the afflicted are evil, but he who is of a merry heart as a continual feast.” This is another wonderful promise! If our heart is rejoicing, we will have a continual banquet with our Lord. Just imagine that!
Once again, it is our choice. This should put the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, in us!
We should not want anything or anyone to keep us from having a merry heart and enjoying all of the benefits that go with that promise. To live our life understanding this, we must repent of hate, bitterness, offences, and
unforgiveness. We do not want a broken spirit. We want to be heaven bound!
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14-15) This is very clear and a commandment! We have to choose to obey this scripture, no matter what has been done to us, right or wrong! It may not be easy to forgive, but it is essential, and God will give us the power to do so. Let’s choose to be victors and not victims! No one can do this for us. There are eternal consequences for our choices!
