Fearful

Dear Judy,

So many changes in our world. Things I could not have imagined. I love the Lord, but when I hear all the dark stuff in the news, it scares me. How do I keep from that happening!

Dear Fearful,

The greatest thing we always need to remember is what Jesus did on the cross for all humanity! He came from heaven to earth and went through a horrible death as He paid the price for all our sins; then He rose again and is alive and well, sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for us! That is the good news! Those who believe this are saved and have eternal life. This means that once we complete our earthly journey, we shall live with Him forever! What could be better than that?

And God does not want us to keep this wonderful truth to ourselves. We should want others to know Him also. (Do you?) We are now ambassadors for Christ and reconcilers for Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 6:1. Wow, what a job. When we remember this, we will know our Lord is with us and will help us to finish what we are purposed to do.

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

Yes, we should know what is going on in the world and our hometowns, but we have to monitor how much we allow in our life. No matter how dark or terrible things look, our Lord tells us to read His Word to know truth! We are called the light of the world, and light always dispels darkness! So if you are getting fearful, shut off the TV and read your Bible more to allow His promises to penetrate your life.

But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me! Palm 22:19

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on t

The Lord speaks to us through His manual for success (Bible). But are we listening? We are living in very evil times, but we can also see revival among people if we watch Christian News. When people get saved in great numbers, we need to pray for them to truly get connected. A merely emotional experience is not becoming born again. Conversion is believing that the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross, died, and rose again, and we ask Him to forgive our sin.
