Life with God after salvation!

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation

We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

This is basic stuff but because so many do not have Christianity 101 (the basics) in place, they fall on their face. We must seek the Lord and learn how to be conformed to the image of Christ day by day and moment by moment. That is only accomplished by first getting saved, which immediately takes us from the devil’s wordly kingdom and places us in the eternal Kingdom of God.

When we put Jesus as Lord of our life, we become a new creation in Christ. Our spirit man is new, but our soul (our mind, will, and emotions) is not yet transformed. We must learn how to live for Christ and by Kingdom principles. We need to get that stinking thinking, self-centeredness, and living by our emotions changed, and live by God’s Word and God’s Word alone.

When I first got saved, a friend told me something about the power of prayer that I’ll never forget. She said, “Judy, put a note on your aspirin bottle that says: “PRAY FIRST!” Most people take the aspirin and then pray! This is a basic!

As children of God, realize that OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS BEST. Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Spending time in the Word and studying it will rewire our minds from world-thinking to God-thinking. This is Christianity 101. Too many Christians seldom read their bible. Our minds won’t be transformed if we don’t spend time in God’s Word, His love letter to us.

Let us choose to be mighty men and women of God and move out of Christianity 101 to the fullness of Christ and see the miraculous in our daily lives. Let’s fellowship with like-minded believers, which includes in church in-person, with our Bible in our hands, not the phone! Let’s be in the Word, meditating on it, memorizing it, praying fervently each day, and seeking His will in every aspect of our lives.

This is not a natural concept but a spiritual one and is only understood from our manual for success, the Bible! To be hidden in Christ, you must be born again or if you prefer, born from above!

We are pilgrims just passing through here to our eternal home, but during this journey we have a purpose and plan from our God to complete. Set before us are many paths with many gates. We choose which ones we open. We are not robots. We have a free will.

We need to be very aware we are living in the last of the last days. All around us we see so much evil. Our manual for success (Bible) is very clear about these days in which we are living. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. 2 Timothy 3:1 Perilous times means dangerous and morally corrupt.

This article is titled Food for Thought so why don’t we give some thought to our walk with the Lord as we close this year out. What have we learned from this year? What things do we want to change and not take into the coming year?
