Out with the Old; In with the New by Dr. Judy Baus

I find that many people I minister to are fully earth-bound and are not eternally focused. I’m not talking about unbelievers but Christians! This is sad. Think about this. Jesus came to earth as a baby and had a purpose and plan all brought forth at the cross where He took all the sins, poverty, sickness, and disease on Himself for us. Before He died, He said “It is finished.” He was buried, then He rose from the dead and gave instructions to His disciples. Then He went to His Father in heaven and is seated with Him.

Jesus said “It is finished” which means He turned His plans and purpose over to us, His children. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17) While He was on earth, Jesus did all He was going to do. . . and now He now works through us by the person of Holy Spirit.

We are His disciples and just as Jesus called them together, He calls us together to get our mindset changed from earthly things to heavenly things which is doing His work and taking our rightful authority. He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. (Luke 9:1) Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

We are pilgrims passing through on this journey of life to carry out God’s purpose which is to help people get born again, set free, delivered, prosper, and live in health. For us to give this truth to others, we must live this truth ourselves. That takes our letting go of the old thoughts and allowing the Holy Spirit to make our manual for success (the Bible) go from the logos (written word) to rhema (life-giving essence of the word), causing it to explode in our spirit!

Let us have our mind reset from today and every day by seeing everything in the perspective of eternity and not allow the temporary to consume us. Jesus does not care if we have money or things; in fact, all we have is because He allows us to have it, but He does not want those things to HAVE us! Big difference.

Coming into the new, let’s be obedient to what Paul teaches us in Romans 8:5: For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

A key verse is Philippians 2:5: Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

Have a Blessed 2026.

Rejoice means to brighten up, joy, cheer up! Many of us may rejoice when things are going well, but to rejoice when we see the darkness all around us?

We are living in very serious times! It is important that we take an account of our heart. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to search our heart and expose any hidden place of unforgiveness or offense. If we hang onto those and do not repent, we are the only one chained and we leave a door cracked

These times in which we live, we must be very careful and watchful because they are perilous times. The Apostle Paul teaches us this with amazing clarity in 2 Timothy 3:1-5: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud

I want us to think about where our focus is. This is very important in these last of the last days! Do we have one foot in the world and the other in the Kingdom of God? If so, we are in BIG trouble because we are not surrendering all we are to Jesus Christ.
