Victorious
These times in which we live, we must be very careful and watchful because they are perilous times. The Apostle Paul teaches us this with amazing clarity in 2 Timothy 3:1-5: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Perilous means reducing the strength; difficult, dangerous, or furious, fierce. A time of moral decay! Well, this should help us understand how living in this kind of society could diminish our strength if we are not careful and watchful.
Read slowly through this scripture passage. Then take some time to evaluate our lives and the people we have allowed into it. It also says having a form of godliness but denying the power or miraculous ability! Key to surviving during these times is to turn away from those people who are doing the things this scripture talks about!
We are followers of Christ, and this scripture is talking about our society today! We are to change the atmosphere, not have the atmosphere change us. We will become who we run with! It is the enemy’s job to steal, kill, and destroy! He is good at doing just that! It is a dangerous thing to flirt with the things that please our flesh! Just because something looks good does not mean it is good.
There is no book outside of our manual for success (the Bible) that can show us how we can live a victorious life. Jesus won the victory already for us; now we are to press into that victory by knowing His promises and His instructions, and obeying them.
We are in a spiritual battle to bring people out of the darkness into the light of Jesus Christ so that they too can become a follower of Jesus and not a victim of these perilous times. We need to rise in bold faith and let our lives shine with His righteous living so others can see where our hope, peace, and joy come from, no matter what comes our way! So let’s stay on guard, careful and watchful which will keep us from becoming a victim and cause us to live a victorious life!
