Serious Times

We are living in very serious times. We never know what the next minute holds for us, or that we’ll have a next minute. I ask you, if you should die in the next second, do you truly know where you will go? Years ago, that very question haunted me. I knew there was a Creator God. I only had to look at the night sky to see that, or at the birth of a baby. But after death — then what? I certainly knew I was not coming back here as a worm or anything else. Reincarnation was not for me. So what was for me?

I will never forget when I got the news my dad only had six months to live. He looked me in the eyes and said, “Judy, I need to know where I am going!” Dad had grown up going to church, but he and my mom had long gotten away from all that. Now, death at his door brought the question, “Where am I going after I die?” I remember asking him, “Dad, Where do we start?” and his response was — the Bible!

Like any book, I started reading at the beginning, Genesis, and kept on reading aloud through the entire Bible. In the process, we discovered the truth of eternal life. As we read, God’s truth pierced our hearts and we both received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord! We found the promise that not only do we have a citizenship here on earth, but also in heaven! Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me ask you, “Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt where you will spend eternity?” I pray you do know.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

Child’s toy in middle of disaster

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on t

The Lord speaks to us through His manual for success (Bible). But are we listening? We are living in very evil times, but we can also see revival among people if we watch Christian News. When people get saved in great numbers, we need to pray for them to truly get connected. A merely emotional experience is not becoming born again. Conversion is believing that the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross, died, and rose again, and we ask Him to forgive our sin.
