Troubled One

Dear Judy,

I have some huge overwhelming issues in my life. My mind will not shut up. How do I live in God’s peace through this turmoil? I love the Lord but need help in this storm!

Dear Troubled One,

The first and most positive thing is to make sure you have Jesus and His Word in your life. I call the Bible my manual for success because there is no solid help outside of the Lord and His promises. Everything we need is found in that Manual (Bible). Through your storms of life, you will find your peace in the promises of our Lord.

We must not always speak the problem but speak the promises of God. Right now, I am going through the biggest storm I have ever had to face, and I am standing on Matthew 19:26: But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." This scripture helps me bring my storm out of the natural realm and into the spiritual. If we view our problem from man’s perspective, then we have no peace! Peace of God comes from the spiritual realm, so we keep our eyes on Jesus!

The Apostle Paul faced a lot of big storms in his life, and he says in Romans 8:6, For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Carnally minded means to think as the world thinks which will not bring us peace. Peace comes when we are spiritually minded which we get when we look up at Jesus and what He has done for us, is doing for us, and will do for us; then spend our time meditating on that!

That is a question often asked by new believers. The Bible is very clear about this. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

The Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about prayer. We must give thought to how Jesus told his disciples to pray.

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on t
