Confused

Dear Judy, I need help to understand how well-meaning Christians can mix the Bible up with so many different beliefs? I read the Bible and I believe the Bible, but some of my friends read other kinds of books and they are confused. Like the New Age stuff, and views on gender and sexual orientation…I get confused too when I try to read the stuff they’re reading! Help!

Dear Confused,

My husband Vic always tells me people are people, they are only people, and they will always be people, Judy. Get it together! In others words I am not accountable for other people’s actions nor do I follow the beliefs and actions of others. As a born-again Christian, I am out of the kingdom of darkness ruled by evil, and I am in the Kingdom of Light where Jesus Christ rules. When I changed kingdoms by receiving Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord, I trusted His Word to be my manual for success, my only manual for my success. This should be true for anyone who is a follower of Jesus.

Jesus says in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. This is a very clear promise! No way except His way, no truth outside of His truth, and no life except His life. This is what it says and what it means! So error and confusion will always come to followers of the Lord if they dabble in other mindsets, religions or philosophies, including New Age.

If we do not stay in the Bible to know the truth that makes us free, we can get deceived by the mirage of stuff that the devil lays in our path to bring us down. Remember, Jesus says in John 10:10: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. That abundant life is for you and me and all other believers who truly believe!

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on t

The Lord speaks to us through His manual for success (Bible). But are we listening? We are living in very evil times, but we can also see revival among people if we watch Christian News. When people get saved in great numbers, we need to pray for them to truly get connected. A merely emotional experience is not becoming born again. Conversion is believing that the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross, died, and rose again, and we ask Him to forgive our sin.
