Devastation in the World

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a victors.

Jesus does not want us living in fear of all the darkness and “what ifs.” No! We focus on Jesus and His protection. We get in our manual for success (Bible) and read His promises and how to live our life amid it all. Jesus did not say it would be easy. He just said—Do it!

We are the light of the world and the salt! We are the reconcilers and ambassadors to the world! The Apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2:9, But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

We represent Christ to the world. Jesus said we are in the world but not of it! So, we should not look like it! That is only done by FAITH and faith alone. We all have faith in something. We can even have faith in our fear and doubt, meaning we have confidence in fear and doubt more than we have confidence in Jesus and His promises.

Things are not going to get better in the world, but let’s not become bitter. Let’s become better because we know the end of the Bible says we WIN! When we remember that we are eternal and heaven is our home, we will keep the right perspective! Everything temporal will fade away and only the eternal will remain.

We are followers of Christ (I say “followers of Christ” instead of “Christian” because many who say they are Christian are not!); we have a purpose and a plan from our Lord. Let us learn to allow Him to work through us with boldness in the midst of darkness to bring light to those who are so in need of Jesus Christ. It is time to be bold and go forth trusting our Holy Spirit to open divine appointments for us to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us purpose in our hearts to get rid of fear and rise in faith releasing those who are in bondage of the devil. We have the authority!

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

We are living in very serious times! It is important that we take an account of our heart. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to search our heart and expose any hidden place of unforgiveness or offense. If we hang onto those and do not repent, we are the only one chained and we leave a door cracked

These times in which we live, we must be very careful and watchful because they are perilous times. The Apostle Paul teaches us this with amazing clarity in 2 Timothy 3:1-5: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud
