Still Waiting

Dear Judy, I have a deformed body part that over the years I've been able to cover up quite well. In the Bible, Matthew tells of a man with a withered hand that Jesus "restored whole, like as the other" (Matthew 12:10-13). I have believed, prayed and cried this passage for me, yet I'm still cursed. Why? Still waiting for my healing.

Dear Still Waiting,

First of all I want to tell you how sorry I am that you have a deformity in your body. Healing is a mystery my sister. No one on this earth understands or comprehends all the aspects of healing. I have been on the road preaching and laying hands on people for healing 23 years. I have seen people standing right next to one another where one is healed instantly and the other walking back the same as they were. After 23 years of praying over hundreds of people, it still remains a mystery to me. My part is to be available for the Holy Spirit to use me to pray, but it is the Holy Spirit’s part to bring wholeness to the person.

I do know that a born again child of God is not under any curse. The Apostle Paul tell us: “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’” (Galatians 3:13 NLT). The word cursed means accused! Jesus took all curses meant for me on the Cross. As His children, we are free from being accused. His blood was shed for us, so cursed we are NOT!

We live in a fallen world which is full of sickness and disease. Jesus did creative miracles as with the man with the withered hand and He is still doing them. I am glad to hear you have not quit believing for your creative miracle. We do not base our faith on our own or someone else’s experience. We base our faith on the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Our walk is our journey through this life. Faith is our believing laced with confidence that God is who He says He is and He will do what He said He will do. So many times we get focused only on what we can see instead of trusting in what God says in His Word.

Some people are healed instantly but others it takes years for the manifestation of healing to come. The scripture to hang on to is 1 Peter 2:24: ”Who Himself (Jesus) bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.” In the Old Testament hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus our Messiah, the great prophet Isaiah prophesied the same thing in chapter 53:5. Both accounts are spoken of in past tense to show us healing is already done for us. We need it to manifest in our bodies, and when that will happen is totally up to the Holy Spirit.

I urge you to keep walking in faith, not doubt or fear… As long as we live in this demon infested world, we will see deformities, sickness, disease, poverty, hopelessness but we need to remember we have our Lord and His promises to stand on. Jesus loves us this I know and one day we shall have a brand new body and live forever whole…. But until then keep thanking, trusting, and expecting your miracle.

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

Everywhere we look, so many people are going through horrible things. Every time I take a hot shower, the Lord brings to my mind how many people have no water at all! Bad weather and fires have destroyed so many lives. People without the Lord have no hope. But those who have received Jesus as their personal Savior and are trusting HIM and His Promises found in their manual for success (the Bible) – they have hope!

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?
