Troubled One

Dear Judy, I am very troubled about what is happening in our society and schools. I am offended at this transgender bathroom situation and same-sex marriage. I am a Christian but I know people who are not and they are equally troubled. How can a few rule for the majority?

Dear Troubled One,

I am very troubled also at the way our country is going. I was shocked when same sex marriage was approved by our government and now the transgender bathroom stuff. I agree with you concerning the Christian and non-Christian alike having issues with both of these huge changes in our country. I do believe people have to stand up for what they believe.

With the same sex marriage issue each minister must have a right to say NO if they or their church disagree with this type of marriage. A lot of ministers, including me, have taken a stand and will not marry same-sex people. This is a non-compromising stand which the Bible teaches very clearly. As an American we have that right and I stand in that right.

Now the issue of bathrooms and transgender -- this is really solved easily by simply putting in another bathroom with a sign indicating it’s for either men or women. As for schools, I think it is pure silliness to think that whatever gender a person identifies with in their mind is which bathroom or locker room the student can go into. I feel strongly as do many others that if the parts on the body is of a boy, then they must go to the boys’ locker room and if body parts are of a girl, then they go to the girls’. NO EXCEPTIONS. If the person has gone through a sex change, then they will have the parts for the correct locker room. We have a choice whether or not to allow ourselves or our children to share a bathroom or locker room with a transgender person.

It is up to the parents or whoever is in charge of the children to take a stand and speak up. For the Christian, the Bible is our guideline. Hebrews 13:6 says, So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" It is time to stand up and speak out that neither we nor will our children be exposed to all this confusion when there is an easy solution. For the majority to rule, let’s not compromise and let us do something about the wrong. This might involve getting involved.

That is a question often asked by new believers. The Bible is very clear about this. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on t
