Focus and Obey

Focus and Obey!

I see so many believers focusing on world events and the despair in our world. That may well be a focus for the unbeliever but certainly not for a believer! If we read our manual for success (Bible) and obey what it is teaching us, then we will have all our focus on Jesus and the cross! Jesus did everything for us on the cross, and if we don’t understand this, we will be in big trouble!

From the cross, Jesus cried out “IT IS FINISHED.” (John 10:30) We need to spend time truly asking the Holy Spirit what that means. Those three words will set us free. Everything has been done that is going to be done! And now, He has turned it over to us. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14:12) This is talking about quantity, not quality, because now many of His followers are doing His works!

To have the right focus, we must be doing whatever Jesus is telling us to do which is in His Word. Seven of the greatest words Jesus wants to hear are the ones His mother Mary said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5) If we would live our life remembering these words, IT IS FINISHED and WHATEVER HE SAYS TO YOU, DO IT, our total focus would be on eternal matters and not earthly temporary stuff!

The Bible is unfolding before our eyes and the rapture or catching away will soon happen for believers, but until that time, we have a lot to do because God wishes none to perish! … “It is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” (Matthew 18:14) Perish does not mean cease to exist. All humans, saved or unsaved, are eternal beings and will live for eternity somewhere. Heaven or Hell—it’s a choice!

With the help of the Holy Spirit, we must keep ourselves focused and obedient, bringing people the Good News of Jesus Christ. One day we will stand before Him to give an account of what we did with the time and resources He gave us. So, let us get our perspective and obedience correct before it is too late!

Many people are confused by this question. But before I answer it, I want to make clear that there is a real heaven and a real hell! Everyone goes to one place or the other—their choice! So, no, everyone does not go to heaven, but everyone will go somewhere when they die.

So many horrible things are happening in our world today—children and adults gunned down in the middle of prayer, lives being destroyed by wars, famines, floods, fires, absolute madness– and if we allow ourselves to focus totally on these things, fear can totally take over and then we will become victims instead of a v

We are eternal beings, and we shall live for eternity somewhere! If we think we are saved, we are not! We must KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that we are born from above and have both an earthly address and a heavenly address. This is done by accepting Jesus as our Savior and living for HIM!

The Lord speaks to us through His manual for success (Bible). But are we listening? We are living in very evil times, but we can also see revival among people if we watch Christian News. When people get saved in great numbers, we need to pray for them to truly get connected. A merely emotional experience is not becoming born again. Conversion is believing that the Lord Jesus Christ went to the cross, died, and rose again, and we ask Him to forgive our sin.

Every day we hear something in the news that is so devastating, but as children of God we always have hope. So many Christians might attend church and read the Bible but still have no understanding of the Lord’s precious gift of Hope. Hope brings and builds trust IN our Lord no matter what happens.
