What is Truth?

Dear Judy,

I go to church, and I also listen to services on line. It seems to me there is a trend toward thinking that hell is not real. Is this true? Is there a real hell?

Dear Wondering One,

You say you go to church and you watch services online, but do you read your Bible? We are told in Romans 12:2, … do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Being “conformed to this world” means to be molded by the world—looking, acting, thinking, and talking like the world.

The word transformed means changed! When we become children of God, we must have our mind changed from worldly to Godly. If we do not get in our manual for success (Bible), we will never be changed. We must righty divide the word of truth by studying what we are reading. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

If we are born again, we have the Holy Spirit who will give us understanding about what we are reading and listening to—is it good for us or not? Jesus talks about hell a lot! Because people want to discount the truth about hell does not make hell not real. When we hear people say there’s no hell because Jesus is LOVE! He is love, that is truth, but He is also righteous and just. He died on the cross for all the sin in the world, but we must choose to believe what He did on the cross and then rose from the dead.

Jesus said in Matthew 23:15, Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. He said in Luke 12:5, But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

I could go on, but to simply answer your question, YES, hell is real, and the enemy’s job is to lie to everyone about heaven and hell. I tell people when I preach, do not take my word for anything, but get in the Word of God and find out for yourself! Read and obey! We are responsible for ourselves to know the truth, and we have the truth found clearly in the BIBLE!

We are living in very serious times! It is important that we take an account of our heart. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to search our heart and expose any hidden place of unforgiveness or offense. If we hang onto those and do not repent, we are the only one chained and we leave a door cracked

These times in which we live, we must be very careful and watchful because they are perilous times. The Apostle Paul teaches us this with amazing clarity in 2 Timothy 3:1-5: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud

I want us to think about where our focus is. This is very important in these last of the last days! Do we have one foot in the world and the other in the Kingdom of God? If so, we are in BIG trouble because we are not surrendering all we are to Jesus Christ.
